First Ever ATP Challenger in San Francisco February 3rd-10th

Wildcard Tournament for $100K ATP Challenger:

Even though the wildcard tournament this past weekend did not go as well as I would have liked, it gave me some solid practice before competing this coming weekend (February 3rd and 4th) in the Qualifying of singles for the Challenger. I felt throughout the tournament that I was tentative and tight, which is surprising because I have not felt that way in a long time. The last couple weeks I definitely think I have been a bit anxious about this upcoming ATP Challenger and in turn have allowed it to impact my on court performance.

My goal this week is to step back and have fun in my preparation for this awesome opportunity. I am going to train hard, but try not to put any additional pressure on myself. That is definitely easier said than done! I want to remember to control what I can and stay dialed in throughout the week.

A good friend of mine after the Wildcard Tournament reminded me the importance of letting go, accepting, and then moving forward. That is exactly what I am trying to do. I know I will not be at my best 100% of the time. Ultimately, what is most important is how I rebound this week and what I do moving forward that will make the difference.

First ATP Pro Challenger Event February 3rd-10th:

I am really excited to announce that the tournament committee granted me a Main Draw Wildcard into Doubles as well as a Wildcard into Qualifying of Singles. I will be playing doubles with Nick Chapel, who is currently ranked 500 in the world in doubles.

This is going to be an amazing opportunity to compete against players in the top 100-500 in the world. For anyone who will be in San Francisco, I hope you will come out and watch me play! I would be lying to say I am not feeling a little bit nervous, but I think that is totally normal given this incredible opportunity! I am trying to stay as present and focused on what I need to do to be as prepared as possible.

I can’t wait to give everyone an update after the Challenger!
